Beth Schrader Invited to Join Leadership Fort Wayne

IOS congratulates Beth Schrader on being invited to join the 2013 class of Leadership Fort Wayne and for her on-going efforts to give back to her community.  

Leadership Fort Wayne (LFW) was founded in 1983 by the Fort Wayne Corporate Council and Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne with seed funding provided by Lilly Endowment, Inc. The purpose was to ensure high quality leadership and active involvement of informed and dedicated citizens to meet the present and future challenges that face the Fort Wayne community. Since 1983, over 1,000 participants, reflecting a cross section of the community, have completed the programs and are now taking an active role as community trustees.

The mission of Leadership Fort Wayne is to train, prepare and inspire individuals to positively impact the community through meaningful engagement.

Outcome Goals
  • To instill an understanding of community trusteeship and a life-long commitment to community service.
  • To provide information about the community–its history, people, strengths, challenges and opportunities.
  • To develop 21st century leadership skills and capacities.
  • To provide opportunities to practice leadership skills and utilize knowledge gained.
